Hi there friends! I haven't been active on this site in one million years!
Just thought I'd touch base, I was looking for model references for a school project and remembered my account that I made on here. So, now for the obvious question: What have I been doing????

Well, a while back I actually got accepted into a costuming program at a film school at one of the universities in town, and so far I am LOVING it. I got accepted on account of my sewing skills, but I've been doing a fair bit of learning about costume history, design, and wardrobe management along with it. I have still been drawing, hell, I just drew something as a warmup for a school project right now, but I haven't been sharing it online as much as I'd like to be, which is kind of unacceptable! I've also improved VASTLY and will probably post my warmup sketch if I get the time (I wanted to draw a 17th century mantua dress, so I stuck Cherche in one because I thought it suited her, plus it'd give me a character personality to work off of).

As for recreational projects, I've resurrected my fanfiction.net account from the deep dark depths of the internet. Oh yes. I've got a FE:A story in the works right now, called Wings. It's just about my non-Chrobin OTP Robdelia doing things. Drama! Romance! Suspense! Plot twists! Major character death! And all that good stuff you'd expect from a decent fanfic. I'm basically writing it so that I can play around with Awakening's universe and characters, which I've always quite liked, but I feel could have been expanded on a lot more (I still don't know what I'm going to do with the Valm arc, haha). So I'm doing a SORT OF retelling mainly from Cordelia's perspective with a bit of M!Robin thrown in there because he's a pretty cool dude too. But why Robin though? Don't we already know his story since, you know, literally the entire game is played from his perspective? Well.... you'll see why in the next couple of chapters, let's just say that.

Anyway, now's time for the real stuff. I don't think I'll be returning to this particular account any time soon, mainly because I feel as though I've kind of outgrown it, but I am still active on tumblr, even though I do kind of mostly run a shitpost blog. I also hang out a lot on Reddit as well, under /u/ladyCubert128, and I will sometimes post art from my tumblr to the corresponding subreddit from time to time! If you ever want to chat it up with me, you can reach me at either of those sites, especially when it comes to costuming! And if you want to know anything about costume history, I'd be SO glad to talk about that too, because it's basically become my favourite thing in the world.

Since I've moved on to a new stage in my life, I suppose some sage advice is expected. Well, I suppose that the only advice that I can give right now is to embrace failure. I was fortunate enough to learn what I wanted to do early on in my life, but it took a great failure for me to recognize what I wanted to be. I was almost an engineer because I thought it was more practical than being a costume designer. But then, one day, I managed to be rejected from my academic university of choice only to get two scholarships for textile arts seven hours later! It's after an experience like that that you learn to embrace failure, and see it as a door being opened. My life was absolute madness during the time that I was frantically sending in my application months after it was due and getting my interview done, but I got in in the end, and I couldn't be happier. And I owe it all to the teachers and family members that have supported me through all this.

And you guys, too, for helping me to pursue my passion for the arts, textiles, and film. I really wish you all well, especially my various friends on here that I've met over the years. It's been a pretty good ride.

So yeah. We've all got our characters that we always use in Super Smash Bros.

64 I never played because I didn't have an N64.

When Melee was out I was pretty young, so I was usually Peach, later I started using Roy and Young Link.

In Brawl I was Mr. Game & Watch (a LOT) and Zelda.. When the game became a must-play at all my friends' parties in high school, I added Ike to my list of characters.

And finally, in SSB4 my mains keep changing as I get better at the game. Robin is pretty much always going to be my go-to just for how unique and fun she is, though I also have Marth as my current secondary (I am surprisingly good for having just taken him up yesterday), Dedede for those 8-player skirmishes, and Game & Watch because let's be honest I will never get tired of him.

My skechbook is actually pretty big, so I'm going to take the time to show off some stuff in my book that may not necessarily be "big" enough to show in my gallery, and some of it is ambitious stuff that got abandoned, but it's stuff I'm still proud of. Maybe this could even be one of those tag things, where you post unfinished art that you still like a lot, and might even come back to one day! Anyway, here's my stuff filmed with a potato ipod camera.

Chell's looking very nice today. I actually inked this one, but never coloured it. There are some places where I can really tell I've improved at since, namely the structures of the hands and feet. But at the same time, the drawing is very dynamic and I like the way the hair looks!


There's actually more to my profile picture than you can see initially! It's me as a God Tier Maid of Hope, made a few years ago as my hair was significantly longer back then. I made this with the intention of making it my deviantID, but it was before I had my good markers, so it was never coloured. But I liked it enough to make it my icon, so it's here to stay!


I decided to have some fun with body types and shapes one day, and even though this sketch is super rough, I think I captured each troll's personality rather well. My personal favourite is Eridan down in the corner.



Remember that Meulin I made a while ago? She was actually part of a much bigger thing that I never actually intended to colour, but I wound up with her and a finished Cronus a little while later. As you can see, Cronus kind of got coloured over, so I actually had to copy him as best as I could onto another piece of paper so that I could ink and colour him. Will I do the same with the others? Hard to say. But they are cute, though.


This is one of many drawings I have of Rose Lalonde. I like drawing her a lot, her design is simple, but there's lots to do with it. This is supposed to be her in a private school uniform, I have a headcanon that pre-SBURB, she would wear the most outlandish things with her uniform that she could that were still in the dress code. Now THERE'S a prompt.


I did something on Facebook where I'd take requests from people a while back. One of my friends wanted me to draw a bass clarinet, so I did that.


Speaking of Facebook, I drew my character in Animal Crossing holding a silver shovel and used that as my profile picture for a long time. I'm still really impressed to this day with the shading I did on everything, it's just flawless.


This was supposed to be an ambitious drawing of all the first gen characters in FE:A, but it never got too far off the ground unfortunately, so it's not a whole lot more than a couple of really rough sketches. From left to right you can pick out Donnel, Lissa, Sumia, Robin, Tharja, Ricken, and maribelle, although that Tharja/Robin combination may very well make it's way into becoming it's own drawing. Not to mention that Sumia looks particularly sweet. I don't even care that she stole my husbando in my first playthrough of that game I still made her a cutie.


I drew this little picture of Anna and Olaf after watching Frozen for the first time, and while the "Let it Go" number continues to be my favourite scene in the movie, this part stuck out to me too.


This is a rough draft of Prize for N1ght1ng4L3 and while I liked it a lot, I could not see the lines where I was going to ink it very well through the sketch, so I abandoned it in favour of a new picture that was easier to colour and ink.

I may very well do a second part with my school stuff, since this journal is getting incredibly long. I'm going to tell all my watchers to do this, it's very fun, and I'd like to see what other stuff everyone is doing!
